Anecdote from daily life in Amsterdam / Maarssen 1748:On the 17th of July 1748 Nathan Levie of Maarssen sold six hundred pounds of 'Portuguese-Jewish cheeses' to Abraham Nunes Ferro. Some of the cheeses had already been made by Maarssen farmer Willem Harmense; the rest had yet to be produced. Two weeks later, however, Abraham Nunes Ferro refused to take delivery of the cheeses, because, as he said, he had bought the cheeses "deliverable," and thus "not moldy, spoiled, torn flat, and bitten by mice.https://archief.amsterdam/inventarissen/scans/5075/283.1.62/start/0/limit/50/highlight/31
