Sad to report our patriarch Alex Cohen has passed away at the age of 105.5 ..he was a past.president of the Rhodes society in NYHe served as.president of the sephardic temple in cedarhurst and then as chairman of the board. Born in 1919 to immigrant parents from Rhodes he went on to cooper union college where he became an engineer ,which during ww2 led him to the navy. That would become a.career staying with the navy.He was sharp at all times , and recently was able to attend services and arise to the.Bima for his aliyah. It was a site as the entire congregation stood in respect for him. He will be missed, one of the greatest generation.
