My name is Ganon Yosef from Israel, I am the granddaughter of Clara Amato who was born in Rhodes in 1904 and in 1923 moved to live in Izmir in Turkey following her marriage to Moshe ben Maor. All the members of my grandmother Clara Amato's family who were in Rhodes until they were deported by the Nazis to Auschwitz in 1944. I searched at the Yad Vashem Center in Jerusalem for evidence about the members of the Amato family in the Holocaust. They managed to find the list of the dead, the names of the Amato family members who perished in the Holocaust, among them: Moshe Amato and his children David, Regina and Esther Amato. I have been trying for years to locate remains of the Amato family that survived the Holocaust. I would be happy to correspond with anyone who belongs to the Amato family who is able to identify a connection with the deceased in one way or another. As far as I know my grandmother's father's name was: Ben Zion Amato and the names of her two siblings who survived the Holocaust: David and Lina Amato, and I also know that David's son is called Daniel.
