Good morning to all. The recent posts about the Amsterdam community has me thinking again about certain possibilities for our ancestor (patriarch?) Raphael (da) Costa who is considered by the tradition of our large clan, to be the oldest link that we have on our Sephardic branch of the family. Some facts: circumcised on 1746-04-20 to be married on the 25th in Bevis Marks (poor fellow!) I've attached some documentation. And then he seems to disappear from the London community. So my question to this honored group: though I haven't been able to find anything yet, is it possible or likely that Raphael and his wife moved on to Amsterdam?We generally believe that he had a son, Gabriel Raphael (da) Costa, when this group of Costa's started dropping the "da". Thanks for any insights.
