This is amongst the first Jews to returna to Portugal after the Inquisition around 1849. He herpes estabilí the Faro Jewish commumity and was one of 3 families who bought the land for the Jewish cemitery in Faro nós a national monument. He was my grandfather's great grandfather.

A helpful book for all those searching Sephardic heritage is Genealogia Hebraica by Jose Abecassis published in Lisbon in 1991 I believe, which details all Jews born in Portugal and Gibraltar since the 1700s.
