Has anyone read Jacob Dweck's The Scandal Of Kabbalah?
It's well known that Herzl became a very common first name among near-Eastern Jews (especially thos eof Persian and Iraqi/Kurdish extraction). Apparently, the name was found among some Western Sephardim as well.
