This headstone is situated in Oslo, Norway. Adolph de Lemos was born in Hamburg in 1848 and died in Kristiania (now Oslo) in 1900. I wrote down a relatively "de-ornamented" version of the berakhot for Hanukká as read by Chazzan Simon van David Duque (1897-1945) today for the purpose of teaching my children. In case anyone else finds it useful, I'm posting it here. I'll post a closer transcription (with more ornaments) in a comment to this post. My article about the Altona Esnoga is coming along. For now it is only in Norwegian, but I am hoping to add more language versions with time.
I have started transcribing the Shemang based on the tengamim of the Hamburg Portuguese community as transcribed by an anonymous author and printed 1838. The author did not include the High Na'um. When I manage to get more of the "float" of the tengamim, I might try to record the Shemang.

Starting to stitch together slightly (!) more comprehensive information about the main Portuguese Esnoga in Copenhagen ca. 1750-1830. Pardon the lack of English. (Coming one of these days/weeks, I hope.)
A little bit on the side -- but: Emanuel Aguilar, who harmonised _The Ancient Melodies of th Liturgy of the Spanish and Portuguese Jews_ (1857) was the brother of Grace Aguilar. He was a relatively productive composer, and some of his songs are based on poems by A.R. Samuda. My question is: Who is this A.R. Samuda?
