רבי יעקב ויזמאן מקזבלנקה היה בקי בתורה.הוא היה ידוע בקזבלנקה בקדושתו ובחסידותו. הוא היה מתענה תענית הפסקה שישה ימים. ממצש''ק עד ליל שבת. ולקידוש שעשה בערב שבת . היו באים רבנים .דיינים. ואנשים רבים כדי להתברך מפיו . רבה הראשי של בית שמש. העיד כי בהיותו נער זכה להתברך מפי רבי יעקב זצ''ל.
